Ecc 2:14  The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness:

Metacognition - How do you learn?

Ecc 2:14 (a), 1Jn 4:18, Rom 12:2 & Jude 1:20

1Jn 4:18  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Bible tells us a wise man’s eyes are in his head.  People that are wise pay attention to their thoughts.  We cannot say this enough because our thoughts determine our actions.  When you are working on a project, are you positive?  People with a positive disposition achieve more and live longer.  Can you recall any commercials that set things up to look difficult before trying to sell their products?  We may laugh at the exaggerated difficulty.  It is a parody, a worst-case scenario.  How many things do we treat as worst-case scenarios that could become simple issues if we make changes?  How do we process our situation and circumstances?  Metacognition deals with thinking about how we think.

Do we conduct a detailed assessment, identify obstacles and come up with a plan to overcome them or stop when we see an issue?  The answer if different for everyone and based on metacognition.  Paralysis, based on fear, can lead to stagnation, no change.  However, God gave us change to avoid death or irrelevance, 1Cor 15:51.  If something doesn’t change/adapt it dies (or becomes irrelevant).   Further, fear itself is an indication that we need to draw closer to God.  Why?  Because perfect love casts out fear.  How can we draw near to God?  God is love!  Talk to Him and read the Bible.  A proper relationship with our loving God removes the torment of fear because it is cast out of our thought process.  A consistent daily Word diet will cause us to transform due to the renewing of our mind.  When we change our mind (thought process), we can change our circumstances and situations.

We need to understand how we learn, how we process information, for anything of importance.  Concerning the Word, when we meditate, do we think about our learning process?  Are we rightly dividing the Word or just applying it conveniently?  (Memorize blessings and prosperity scriptures but ignore discipline, mercy and forgiveness.)  This month let's focus on how we are learning and applying the Word.   When we have a talk with God every morning, read and meditate on the Word then apply it, we establish a rhythm: pray, meditate, plan, follow through and succeed.

Extra:

Praying in the Spirit is one way we build up ourselves on our most holy faith.

Jud 1:20  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Do you spend time every morning praying in the Spirit?  When we pray in tongues, our spirit is communicating with God.  He literally releases strategies.  We double dog dare you to talk with God about an issue weighing heavy on your heart or concerning something a loved one is going through.  In fact, we challenge you to pick 3 things to talk to God about and keep a journal until the conclusion of the matter.  Ask Him to let you know what His will is.  Daniel and his friends had insight because they inquired of God.  How many things don’t we have the answers to because we didn’t ask?  Ask Him for guidance and strategy then thank Him for the strength to implement the strategy.  Thank Him for provision and His will being done.

Don’t let the enemy trick you into minimizing your relationship with God because God will require something of you.  God always gives more than He asks of us.  In addition to praying and praying in the Spirit, we must read the Word.  Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  From experience and as recorded in the Bible, God reveals Himself to us, and He gives instructions as well as promises.  The extent to which we receive Him is .....metacognition.
